SAM GABET
Sam Gabet, a 21-year-old pickleball enthusiast from Jacksonville, Florida, currently attends Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Florida. Introduced to pickleball amidst the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, Sam, along with three siblings, discovered a passion for the sport. Motivated by a desire to remain active during lockdown, they quickly developed a profound affection for pickleball, leading Sam to make the decision to prioritize the sport over college baseball a few months ago.
Fascinated by the mental engagement and strategic aspects of pickleball, Sam appreciates the combination of critical thinking and physical prowess that the game offers, allowing him to compete at a high level. Having participated in two PPA tournaments at the 5.0 level in Daytona, Sam looks forward to competing in the upcoming APP U.S. Collegiate Championships in January, with plans for further engagements on the horizon.
Sam's chosen paddle, the JAHKING, aligns seamlessly with his playing style, providing effortless power without compromising precision. Guided by his life verse, Colossians 3:23, Sam lives by the principle that "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men." This biblical wisdom underscores his commitment to wholehearted effort in all endeavors, emphasizing the importance of working diligently not merely for human approval but as a service to a higher purpose.
